In the midst of the difficult circumstances the Iraqi people, particularly the Assyrian are in, we find ourselves facing a  historic decision which demands from us to be aware and bare the responsibility that is bestowed upon each national on the future of our beloved Iraq to preserve its sovereignty.    We in the Assyrian General Conference (AGC) add our voice to all of those who rejected the signing of the treaty to be held between the U.S. and the Iraqi government while Iraq is under occupation.   We call upon the Iraqi government and the negotiators to disclose the terms of the agreement and be presented to the National Council and through them to the Iraqi people whom must decide in a referendum the ratification or rejection of the Treaty.
